Rebels Overrun Rockies
The Raleigh Rebels blew out Carolina Rockies 12-1 on Sunday. In the first inning, Raleigh Rebels got their offense started when Joey Sogluizzo was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. The Rebels notched four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Rebels was led by Todd Koenitz, Paul Williams, and Robb Morrison, all driving in runs in the inning. Sogluizzo earned the win for Raleigh Rebels. The ace lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out nine. Sogluizzo recorded the last 21 outs to earn the save for Raleigh Rebels.
Joe Feifer took the loss for Carolina Rockies. Feifer allowed 12 hits and 12 runs over six innings, striking out five. The Rebels racked up 12 hits on the day. Koenitz, Morrison, and Sogluizzo each had multiple hits for Raleigh Rebels. Koenitz went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Raleigh Rebels in hits.
