Sunday’s game against Alamance Giants was a heartbreaker for Raleigh Rebels, as they lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat.  The game was tied at three with Alamance Giants batting in the top of the sixth when McKeon reached on a dropped third strike. Raleigh Rebels lost despite out-hitting Alamance Giants 11 to seven. In the second inning, Alamance Giants got their offense started.  Alamance Giants scored one run when Chrisco singled. In the top of the fifth inning, Alamance Giants tied things up at three when an error scored one run for Alamance Giants. Raleigh Rebels put up three runs in the fourth inning.  Raleigh Rebels batters contributing to the big inning included Damon Herbert, Joey Sogluizzo, and David Gonzalez, who all drove in runs. Alamance Giants scored three runs in the seventh inning.  The offensive onslaught by Alamance Giants was led by Husen, Burnmeister, and Vuccta, all knocking in runs in the inning. Faircloth took the win for Alamance Giants. Faircloth allowed eight hits and three runs over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.  Husen threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Husen recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Alamance Giants. Sogluizzo took the loss for Raleigh Rebels. The bulldog went seven innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out 14.

Raleigh Rebels tallied 11 hits in the game.  Sogluizzo and David Truffelman each collected multiple hits for Raleigh Rebels.  Truffelman and Sogluizzo all had two hits to lead Raleigh Rebels.

Alamance Giants totaled seven hits.  Martinez, Chrisco, and Vuccta all collected multiple hits for Alamance Giants.
