Rebels Fall To Senators After Fifth Inning Rally

The Raleigh Rebels stayed in it until the end, but the Holly Springs Senators pulled away late in a 4-3 victory on Sunday that ended at time.

The game was tied at three with the Senators batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error allowed the Senators to score.

The Rebels lost despite out-hitting the Senators seven to four.

The Senators got on the board in the first inning. David DiMartino drove in two when he singled.
David Halley was the winning pitcher for the Senators. He allowed two hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings in relief, striking out two and walking zero. Robert Woyicki also threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the Senators bullpen.

Joey Sogluizzo took the loss for the Rebels in relief. He pitched the final two innings, allowing two hits and one run while walking one.

Damon Herbert started the game for Raleigh Rebels. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out six.

Mark Simpson started the game for the Senators. He went three innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.

Paul Williams led the Rebels with two hits in three at bats raising his average to .571.
