Reds Capture Lead Early and Defeat Rebels

The Rebels watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-6 loss to the Carolina Reds on Sunday.

The Reds scored three in the top of the first on a double by Wrench, a sacrifice fly by Wright, and a single by Hall in the first inning. In the second inning a single by French, and a walk by Wango brought in a couple more.

The Rebels collected 11 hits and the Reds had ten in the high-scoring affair.

The Rebels scored three runs in the fourth inning. Mark Watson, Emilio Cruz, and Phil Buckley all drove in runs in the frame.

The Reds scored three more runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was driven by a walk by Rick C, a single by Rose, and an error on a ball put in play by Hall.

Raleigh Rebels scattered 11 hits in the game. Herbert, Paul Williams, and Ken Davidson each managed multiple hits for Raleigh Rebels.

Carolina Reds tallied ten hits in the game. French, Hall, and Rose each had multiple hits for Carolina Reds.
